Generosity reigns as Winnipeggers exceed the Campaign 2018 goal by $300,000.
Over 700 Winnipeggers came together at the RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg Thursday night to celebrate love for our city and the incredible achievement of $21.3 million raised for Winnipeg’s community fund.

Through United Way Winnipeg, the community fund supports a network of almost 100 agencies. United Way Winnipeg agency partners receive more than 325,000 visits each year. They’re the backbone of support that strengthens families and communities across our city.

Our donors are “wonderful and giving.”
Barb Gamey, United Way Winnipeg’s volunteer 2018 Campaign Chair, called community fund donors wonderful and giving people who care about our city.
“You put your community first because you recognize the value and importance of a strong and healthy community,” said Barb.
“You invested in all the people who make up this awesome city of ours.”
Barb, CEO of Payworks, ended her term as Chair by passing the baton to Jeff Goy, President and CEO of Wawanesa Insurance.

After passing the baton, Barb Gamey gets a hug from incoming 2019 Campaign Chair Jeff Goy.
“Jeff, I wish you every success in your new role as 2019 Campaign Chair.”
Joan Hardy, Chair of United Way Winnipeg’s volunteer Board of Trustees, said volunteers lead the organization.
“United Way Winnipeg is an organization that brings together all sectors – all citizens – with one single objective: to build a better city for everyone who lives here,” said Joan.
The annual campaign for Winnipeg’s community fund would not be possible without the thousands of volunteers and organizations showing strong leadership and commitment to our shared vision to make the city we love the best it can be.
Each year, it is a pleasure to draw attention to a few with some awards and recognition for their exceptional contributions:
